Using Equilibria Products with Other SubstancesUpdated 15 days ago

Equilibria’s full-spectrum CBD and wellness products are designed to support balance in your daily routine. However, when using our products alongside other substances—such as alcohol, medications, supplements, or THC—it’s important to consider potential interactions. As always, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before making any changes to your wellness routine.

While the information provided in this article are good general rules to follow, our team is here to chat if you need it. For additional support please reach out to our Member Education team - email us at [email protected] or schedule a 1-on-1 Support Session here.

Can I Use Equilibria Products with Medications?

While many of our members are able to use CBD and functional ingredients alongside other medications we always encourage you to speak with a medical professional

CBD and functional ingredients have the potential to interact with certain medications, as CBD can affect how some drugs are metabolized. In some cases, CBD may enhance medication effects, which can increase both efficacy and potential side effects. We strongly recommend discussing any new additions to your routine with a healthcare professional to ensure that Equilibria products are a good fit for you.

Can I Use Equilibria Products with Supplements or Vitamins?

While many of our members are able to use CBD concurrently with their supplements, we recommend informing your healthcare practitioner when you decide to start using CBD. Due to the varied nature of supplements and the length of ingredient lists, we are unable to provide a definitive answer regarding CBD-supplement interactions.

We encourage you to consult your healthcare provider or naturopath for personalized guidance.

Can I Use Equilibria Products with THC?

Yes! CBD and THC work well together, which is why Equilibria offers full-spectrum CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC. Many of our members also use our CBD products alongside THC-dominant products from dispensaries. Equilibria also now provides hemp-derived low-dose THC products for those who are looking to explore potential therapeutic effects of a range of cannabinoids.

Full-spectrum CBD is composed of hundreds of therapeutic compounds, which can be categorized as cannabinoids (compounds structurally similar to CBD and THC) and terpenes (essential oils of the plant). When consumed together, they not only amplify the properties of one another but also maximize the efficacy of your CBD at lower doses through a process called the “entourage effect”. THC plays an important role in the entourage effect by helping guide the CBD to the right receptors in your body. To learn more about the entourage effect, check out this blog post

Some members say they may use CBD products during the day and use THC products at night, but it all comes down to your personal preferences and how you tolerate products in general.

Can I Use Equilibria Products with Alcohol?

CBD and alcohol are both metabolized in the liver, which means they may interact. While moderate consumption is generally fine, it’s best to take it slow and monitor how you feel. If you plan to drink more than usual, consider skipping your CBD dose for that evening.

Additionally, because alcohol is a sedative, we advise extra caution when combining it with our sleep products, particularly those containing CBN,  such as our Nightly Sleep Gummies or Rapid Sleep Melts.

If you have any underlying conditions that affect your alcohol intake or metabolism, we recommend reaching out to your healthcare provider with further questions.

Final Thoughts

Everyone’s body chemistry is unique, and individual responses to combining CBD and functional ingredients with other substances may vary. If you have underlying health conditions or take prescription medications, consulting your healthcare provider is the best way to ensure a safe and effective wellness routine.
