Troubleshooting EQ - What should I do if I experience side effects?Updated 2 months ago

Equilibria routines are designed to be gentle and supportive—but your body is unique, and side effects can happen as it adjusts to new ingredients. This guide can help you troubleshoot common concerns and learn when to make adjustments, when to wait it out, and when to reach out for support.

🌿 General Tips for Troubleshooting

When you’re trying something new—especially plant-based or probiotic-based ingredients—it’s normal to experience mild effects as your body adjusts.

Here are some universal tips that apply across most of our products:

  • Stay hydrated. Increasing water intake can help ease common side effects like headaches or bloating.

  • Take products with food. A healthy fat (like nut butter or avocado) may reduce stomach upset and boost absorption.

  • Start low and go slow. Gradual increases help your body acclimate and make it easier to spot your ideal dose.

  • Track how you feel. Journaling can help you recognize patterns or subtle improvements that are easy to miss.

🌱 CBD Troubleshooting

Common CBD Side Effects

Some members report drowsiness, headaches, or mild stomach upset in the first few days of use. These usually resolve with consistency, hydration, and proper timing.

Am I Taking Too Much?

CBD has a biphasic effect—too little or too much may be ineffective. Most members find success with 20–50mg per day.

You may be taking too much if:

  • You’re feeling overly sleepy during the day

  • Headaches or GI symptoms don’t improve after a week

  • You feel the opposite of your goal (e.g., wired at night instead of relaxed)

Other CBD-Specific Concerns

I don’t like the taste.

Try refrigerating your Drops—cold CBD often has a milder taste. You can also break up your dose into two half-droppers to reduce residual oil taste.

I’m experiencing an itchy throat.

This may be a sensitivity to terpenes—the aromatic compounds in hemp (also found in black pepper). Chilling your Drops usually helps.

Will CBD make me high?

Nope! Our full-spectrum products contain <0.3% THC, which is not enough to cause a high. If you're very THC-sensitive, start slow with Regular Strength products.

🍬 Low-Dose THC Troubleshooting (Tipsy Gummies & Drink Drops)

Everyone’s THC experience is different—and can be influenced by tolerance, time of day, and even your mood. That’s why our low-dose THC products are designed to help you ease in slowly and find your personal sweet spot.

I Felt Sleepy After Taking Tipsy

This is normal, especially for those newer to THC or with a low tolerance. THC affects people differently—while some feel uplifted, others feel relaxed or sleepy.

What to try:

  • Take a smaller dose next time (e.g., half a gummy or a more diluted beverage with the Drink Drops)

  • Try dosing earlier in the day, when you’re more alert

  • Give it time—your body may adjust as you become more experienced

I Felt Groggy the Next Day (Especially With Gummies)

Tipsy Gummies can last up to 8–12 hours depending on your metabolism. If you're feeling groggy the next morning:

  • Take your dose earlier in the evening

  • Cut your dose in half to see how you respond

  • Consider trying Drink Drops for more customizable dosing

I Didn’t Feel Anything—Is That Normal?

Yes! Low-dose THC is meant to be gentle. If one dose doesn’t feel like much, that’s actually good—it means you can confidently explore a slightly higher dose.

Dosing ideas to experiment with:

Low Dose THC Gummies:

  • 1 Gummy = 2.5mg THC + 5mg CBD

  • 2 Gummies = 5mg THC + 10mg CBD

  • 3 Gummies = 7.5mg THC + 15mg CBD

  • 4 Gummies = 10mg THC + 20mg CBD

Low-Dose THC Drink Drops:

  • 1 Packet = 4mg THC + 4mg CBD

  • 2 Packets = 8mg THC + 8mg CBD

Try creating a more concentrated beverage (e.g., 6oz vs. 12oz) and sipping faster for more noticeable effects.

Everyone’s tolerance is different, and building a bit of tolerance over time is totally normal—and even helpful!

💊 Non-CBD Wellness Products

Nutri-Greens

Adding new greens, vitamins, and probiotics to your system may cause temporary gas, bloating, or changes in bowel habits as your body adjusts.

These effects are common and often resolve within a few days or weeks with continued use and hydration.

Microbiome Defense

Gut flora rebalance takes time. You might experience:

  • Gas, constipation, or increased thirst

  • Mood shifts or irritability

  • Irregular bowels (which should level out with continued use)

These experiences  typically balance out with time and extra hydration. If you’re new to probiotics and greens powders, feel free to start with half a serving and increasing to a full serving after giving your body time to adjust.

Women’s Hormone Balance

Generally well tolerated. In rare cases:

  • Mild GI upset may occur, however this typically only occurs with high doses or broccoli

  • This product is food-based, non-hormonal, and safe to take continuously—there’s no tolerance buildup or need to “take breaks”
